Chapter 30 – Where the Whales Lost Their Legs

    2) Matt was targeted with accusations because he refused to confess to his sins.
    3) Chacho and Fidelito are Matt's friends. They aren't targeted with accusations because they confess to sins.
    4) According to Jorge, the good bees kill the drones.
    5) Ton-Ton gets beaten because he stole something from the keepers.
    6) The comparison made to El Patron was that El Patron was that "easy targets were opportunities to frighten enemies you weren't ready to tackle just yet." Jorge wanted to scare Matt, so he did so by whipping Ton-Ton.
    7) Matt learned that "even slavish obedience didn't protect you from punishment." Ton-Ton was a model worker, and he still got punished.
    8) Fidelito confessed for Matt when he was afraid that Matt was going to be beaten.
    9) Matt confessed and took a beating to save Fidelito from being beaten.
    10) The boys supported Matt for the first time because no one had ever stood up to Jorge like that before.
    11) Matt took laudanum to ease the pain.

    3. Chaco and Fidelito don't get targeted with accusations because they make up ones.
    4. The good bees kill the drones.
    5. Ton-Ton got attacked by Jorge to scare Matt.
    6. The comparison was that El Patron said that easy were opportunities to frighten enemies you weren't ready to tackle just yet. That's what Jorge did with Ton-Ton to scare Matt.
    7. Matt learned that even doing everrything the keepers want won't protect you from harm.
    8. Fidelito confessed for Matt.
    9. Matt confessed and took a beating because if he didn't, Fidelito would've been beaten.
    10. The boys accepted Matt and realized that he wasn't a "wussy aristocrat."
    11. Matt took laudanam at the infirmary.
