Chapter 3 – Property of the Alcaran Estate
Emilia, her younger sister Maria, and Steven visit Matt and try to talk to him. He can’t play with them as he is locked in the house, but tries to communicate with them. Steven and Emilia give up and leave Maria behind at Matt’s house. Matt becomes frustrated and breaks the window and asks Maria if she wants to play, drawing the attention of Steven and Emilia. Matt jumps out of the window, lands on the glass, is severely injured and passes out. The children bring him back to a large mansion. The maids begin to treat Matt. A tattoo is discovered on his foot: “Property of the Alcaran Estate.” Mr. Alcaran is furious, treats him like an animal, and tosses the injured Matt onto the front lawn.

Matteo Alacrán is the clone of El Patrón, the lord of the country called Opium, and lives in isolation
until children playing in the poppy fields discover him. Why is he so eager to talk to the children,
after he is warned against it?

2) to prove to her that there was a boy in the house, and since Maria is matts age they thought she could communicate with him.
3) All the doors and windows were locked.
4) Using hand motions and posters.
5) To get out because they were leaving, he broke the window and jumped on the broken glass.
6) They took Mattt to the big house the Alacran estate.

8) He freaked out and threw him out on the lawn.
He was trapped inside and he really wanted to talk to someone else besides Celia. He was desperate for friends and love.

2)Emilia brought Maria because she thought Matt would talk to someone his own.
3) Matt couldn't go outside because the doors and windows were locked.
4)Matt communicated with them by holding up posters
from his room and signaling to them with his hands.
5)Matt broke the window because Maria had been left outside by Steven and Emilia and it was getting dark, the time when Chubracabras came out. When he jumped out of the window he landed on the broken glass and was badly injured since he was in bare feet.
6)The children took Matt back to the Alacran Estate.
7)On Matt's foot they discovered a tattoo that read "Property of the Alacran Estate".
8) Steven's father was outraged that they brought Matt inside, he ordered Matt to be thrown on to the front lawn.
Matt wanted to talk to the children because he had been alone, except for Celia, his whole life and he wanted to make friends so he could be loved.
